The fort itself is square with round towers on three corners and a rectangular tower in the room. With high walls, thick, this fort also served as a coastguard station and until the mid-1980s, was used by the military.

Dukhan: Located on the west coast of the peninsula, is approximately 84 km Dukhan across the country from Doha. It became important when oil was discovered in the surrounding area. Like Umm Said and Al-Wakrah, the city also has beaches.
